The hospitality business that developed the wildly popular Roof at Ponce City Market has been tapped to create another rooftop concept, this time in West Midtown.

Slater Hospitality Concepts will spearhead the project at The Interlock, a forthcoming mixed-use development at the intersection of 14th Street and Howell Mill Road. The rooftop project is still in the early development design phase, but plans include an upscale restaurant and a private pool club.

The two-story restaurant, and an outdoor oasis area called The Grove, will be open to the public. But the pool club and lounge — to include an infinity-edge pool and a retractable roof — will be membership-based, likely with a day-pass option.

Slater Hospitality Concepts, founded by Florida natives Kelvin and Mandy Slater in 2015, developed Nine Mile Station, Skyline Park and RFD Social at Ponce City Market. Georgia-based real estate development firm S.J. Collins Enterprises is partnering with the business for the new rooftop project.

Plans for The Interlock include retail, 350 apartment units, 70 single-family homes and a 145-room Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel. It will also have loft office space, to include a tech start-up incubator operated by Georgia Technology Ventures.

Curry Up Now, a popular San Francisco-based Indian chain, also plans to open at The Interlock. Demolition and groundbreaking on the project is scheduled for next month, and it is slated for delivery in summer 2020.
